Storyline:
Nina (Portman), New York City ballet company whose life, with her profession, is completely consumed and dance like a ballerina. Her obsessive former ballerina mother Erica (Hershey) who exerts a suffocating control over his life. Artistic director Thomas Leroy (Cassel) decides their new season, Swan Lake prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre inaugural production (Ryder) to replace, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan and White Swan Lake dancers innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality to play. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification Black Swan. The two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more touches of the dark side of recklessness that threatens to destroy her.
